The DNReeds/Ostoich staple has an adapted #3 bore with thicker walls and a slight oval shape.  The thicker walls give greater circumference, particularly at the top of the staple where the throat of the blank would be. This staple provides a warm, dark sound and helps the pitch stay “up” in the upper register of the oboe. For more information on the staple design, please click here.
